South Korean company YAS secures 10 billion won order for evaporation sources from TCL CSOT

Sunday,May 31,2026

According to South Korean media outlet The elec, YAS, a major South Korean OLED deposition equipment manufacturer, is further deepening its cooperation with its Chinese customer. Following its recent order for deposition equipment from TCL CSOT, YAS will continue to supply evaporation sources for its 8.6-generation OLED production line. This marks the first time YAS has simultaneously supplied core equipment and key components to an 8.6-generation IT OLED investment project in China.

According to industry sources, TCL CSOT recently released a tender notice on a Chinese bidding platform for evaporation sources for its 8.6-generation inkjet-printed OLED production line.

The tender includes six linear evaporation sources and 72 point evaporation sources. YAS has received a letter of intent from TCL CSOT and is currently advancing the supply process, with the transaction value estimated at approximately 10 billion won (about 45.12 million yuan). These evaporation sources will be installed on the same production line as the previously ordered deposition equipment, and delivery times will be synchronized.

In mid-April of this year, YAS signed a supply contract with TCL CSOT for deposition equipment for its display mass production line, a contract that will continue until the end of 2027. YAS's open-mask deposition system is primarily used to form general-purpose OLED layers such as electron injection and electron transport layers.

The evaporation source, as a core component inside the deposition equipment that heats and vaporizes organic materials, directly affects the uniformity of the thin film and process stability. As a consumable, it will continue to generate revenue for YAS in the future.

TCL CSOT's 8.6-generation OLED production line in Guangzhou mainly manufactures panels for IT devices such as tablets, laptops, and monitors, and plans to use inkjet printing OLED technology. While this technology forms some light-emitting layers through printing, improving material utilization, it does not completely replace traditional processes. General-purpose layers such as charge transport and electron injection layers still rely on deposition processes, which is why TCL CSOT purchases open-mask deposition equipment and evaporation sources.

In addition to its breakthrough in the Chinese market, YAS has also secured an order for evaporation sources for LG Display's new 6th-generation OLED production line. Benefiting from these large orders, YAS's performance is expected to rebound strongly this year, with annual revenue projected to surge from 34.8 billion won last year to approximately 170 billion won. To meet the growing demand for orders, YAS also plans to build its fifth factory in Paju, and its annual production capacity is expected to increase from the current 400 billion won to 600 billion won by 2027.
