AMD pushes new processor series, claiming to be the most competitive in ten years

Tuesday,Jan 08,2019
AMD has launched a new processor portfolio in the new year. At this year's CES show, they will introduce the second generation of the Ryzen 3000 series of mobile processors and Athlon 300 series processors. And the seventh-generation A-series processors for Chromebooks. According to "VentureBeat", these processors use the Zen core architecture, and the clock performance is 52% faster than the cores of previous generations. It is the best product in the decade to compete with Intel, the market leader.

AMD's senior technical marketing manager Robert Hallock said at a press conference that although the notebooks equipped with these processors are not professional e-sports notebooks, they can still run the Rockets League, Dota 2, Fortnite and other games. If you play the Rockets League, the notebook with the Sharp 7 7700U processor can reach 87 frames per second with a resolution of 1280 x 720.

Saeid Moshkelani, general manager of AMD's client computing division, said that their latest mobile processor portfolio will be able to provide different levels of market demand, while in the notebook segment, AMD's processors are also more widely used in different notebooks. In order to meet the user's pursuit of high performance, rich graphics, and longer life battery.

The AMD Ruilong 3000 series mobile processor is built using 12 nanometer process technology. Hallock said that this series of processors has a great competitive advantage.

The main features of the Ruilong 3000 series mobile processor are voice wake-up, advanced standby (BY), smooth game experience and 4K HDR streaming video. The computer with this series of processors has a battery life of up to 10 hours while playing a movie. According to Hallock, computers powered by the AMD Rex 7 3700U processor are 29% faster than Intel's Core i7-8550U6 in editing media. The Ryzen 5 3500U is also 14% faster than the Intel Core i5-8250U7.

Starting in the first quarter of this year, consumers will be able to purchase notebooks equipped with second-generation Ryzen mobile processors, including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Huawei, Lenovo and Samsung.

AMD expects to provide regular software updates for the Radeon processor with Radeon Vega graphics from the first quarter of 2019, increasing support for new games, improving processor performance and increasing stability.

At the same time, AMD will also launch the Athlon mobile processor equipped with Zen core, providing customers with more choices. The seventh-generation A-series processors are specially designed for Chromebooks, rivaling Intel's Pentium N4200 and Celeron N3350 processors.

Ray Wah, Dell's senior vice president, said that they will launch AMD-powered notebooks and 2-in-1 computers in the next few months to make customers' choices more diverse and AMD's latest Acer mobile processing. The device provides versatile processing while retaining the features of a modern desktop computer.
